** Happy Easter!! I hope you are enjoying it with Family like I am! **
I like to buy knobs whenever I see them at the thrift store.
Right now I have a dozen wooden knobs ($1.99), some antique white porcelain ones, and some cool silver colored retro looking ones. I know... I need to buy more!! All for $1-$2 per 6 knobs (beats spending a dollar or 2 per knob at the hardware store!)
I know I'll use them for refinishing furniture, furniture I've built (OK, will build - getting ahead of myself here), or other projects...
Like this one... you can use cabinet or dresser knobs as wall hangers!
What you'll need:
Hanger Bolts are just machine bolt on one side and screw on the other.
The size you generally want is 8-32.
8-32 is the standard size for drawer (knob) hardware (but double check your hardware, antique knobs may use a different size or may use screws!) At HD, I find them hanging near the cabinet knobs and hardware. They can be hard to find!
1. Decorate knob as you please
I painted mine green.
I was going to cover them in fabric to match my canvases, but decided plain was nicer.
Each knob is easy to paint if you thread it onto the hanger bolt, and then screw it into a cardboard box.
2. Use the drill bit to make a hole in the wall
If you are installing a hanger in a stud, drill a pilot hole and screw in your hanger.
Plastic wall anchors should only be used where the wall is hollow.
If you are putting in a plastic wall anchor, drill a hole a little smaller than the size of the anchor.
3. Insert plastic wall anchor
Use an anchor the right size for your screw too!
Gently tap it in with a hammer. If the hole you drilled is too small, the anchor will collapse, and you'll need to make a slightly bigger hole!
4. Screw your knob into the anchor
Isn't that soooo easy, and it looks great!
You just can't move 'em around as easily as simple nails, but who wants boring ol' nails anyway!

Wooden Nursery Letters
The baby's name isn't Ali, I just removed some letters and then switched them around. Since I think it'll be REALLY hard to keep my kids's names secret on this blog, I may just give up and let you have 'em.
Let me know if you share your kids names on your blog!

Thanks so much for this post! I've been thinking of doing this, but wasn't quite sure how to anchor it tightly! This is exactly what I was looking for! I can't wait to get started!
Thank you so much for sharing this information about hanging these. My wife has been asking me to build her wooden letters for our baby's room and I was not sure what a good way would be to go about doing so. I like your ideas and appreciate the pictures! Thanks!

Thank you It is a nice blog……….
It isn't always required to Re-build the wall. In the event the wall has to be moved, then sufficient soil has to be removed to permit the wall to move. Browse this site to know more about ground anchor.
