I love this wall quote for my wainscoted nursery.
If you're not afraid of a little paint, here's a trick to get it without paying for a vinyl wall decal.
You just need a printer, charcoal, and paint (oh, and a Magic Eraser)!
** Warning** Before starting make sure a magic eraser won't take off your paint (in an inconspicuous place). It has never caused me any problems - but better safe than...
1. Print out your quote
(or picture, drawing, etc.) from your computer. Choose the size and font as you want it to appear.
2. Rub charcoal on the back.
Using a hard artist's charcoal stick, rub on the opposite side of the letters. (This works just like carbon paper, but easier to get and cheaper).
3. Tape it up and trace out words
Put it exactly where you want your quote to be (make sure it's level too!)
No need to press too hard...
4. Paint.
Fill in your transferred outline with paint. Clearly this works best on a smooth surface, but it can be carefully done on rough surfaces too. Don't worry about smudges or extra lines.
5. Erase mistakes and smudges
some smudges or extra lines are sure to have occurred, just use the magic eraser on them. Wait until paint is dry!
The fonts I've used here were Staccato222 (for the cursie) and (good ol') Garamond.
I've done this with a few paint projects, and it works great. I am definitely not good enough at freehand to do this without my "trick".

This is great, I was trying to figure out how to do this without buying the expensive vinyl letters. The only problem is that I want a really big font and I don't think the printer is big enough. lol
That's a tough one! Could you print one word or letter per piece of paper? You can also try Kinkos or a copy place for big print jobs - it would still be cheaper than buying vinyl letters!
Love the quote and so appropriate and not over used. Cute not cheesy. Wow I really liked it. ;)
I must be "out of the loop", I didn't know you could do this! So cool, love it. The quote is beautiful.
Great quote, it turned out really nice.
