Bathroom Storage

Wanna add a little fun and function to the bathroom medicine cabinet?
I built this cute little planter box for mine!

I saw these cute wooden plant pots at Michael's a while back and thought "I can make one of those"!

What you'll need:
  • lattice wood strips
  • saw
  • wood glue
  • paint (optional)
  • sandpaper (optional)
  • clear lacquer (optional)

I used that super cheap wood called lattice from the hardware store, cut into pieces on my miter box (careful, I didn't use 45 or 90 angles, so this wasn't as easy as it sounds; I held the wood in place with my hand).

I used wood glue to attach the pieces together (no nails!) and it's actually really sturdy (I dropped it on the concrete floor of my garage a few times... on accident).

Looks great just like this, actually, but I wanted mine "dressed up" a little,
so I painted it Heirloom White

stenciled and painted on it using this technique
sanded it a little for "personality"
and a final coat of clear lacquer

and now I have great Bathroom Cabinet Storage for my toothbrushes, paste, etc!
